Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Family Services has a mission of sharing Christ's healing love with children, youth and families in crisis. The organization carries out its mission through services available at a children's home in Monticello, Arkansas, and a counseling center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Close to 200 youth in state custody live at Vera Lloyd's children's home every year. These  youth, ages six to 21, have been removed from their homes due to neglect or abuse and come to Vera Lloyd for emergency shelter, long-term residential care, therapeutic group homes or transitional living program. House parents and other staff are dedicated to ensuring these youth have shelter, clothing, shoes, school supplies, nutritious meals, a loving environment, instruction in independent living skills, a comprehensive treatment plan with professional counseling and opportunities for recreational and cultural activities.

Church members and community organizations who volunteer on campus typically carry out small construction projects, landscaping, painting and other activities that "spruce-up" the 45-acre campus. Volunteers are also invited to work with youth on arts and crafts, cooking, literacy and other activities of benefit to youth.
