AVAILABLE GRANTS (2017 are already awarded)
The UKirk Intern Grant is available in order to support the weekly operations of collegiate ministries registered with the UKirk Network. Eight $2,500 grants are available. The purpose of these grants is to promote evangelism and discipleship in PC(USA) related campus/college ministries. The funds are intended to provide internship stipends for registered students officially involved in leadership in their local UKirk ministries. Download the application packet here.
The UKirk Cohort Grant is available to financially support the development of UKirk collegiate ministercohorts. Ten $2,000 grants are available. We invite you (the campus ministers, chaplains, etc.) to assemble cohorts of 10-12 ministry colleagues, with the aim of having 2-3 day retreats centered around collaborative learning, worship, and mutual encouragement. The UKirk Cohort Project grant is intended to offset the costs of launching cohort gatherings. The funds may only be used for lodging, food, ground transportation or books (for the cohort gathering). Download the application packet here.
The UKirk Pilgrimage Travel Grant is available to minsters whose ministries are registered with the UKirk Network. Ten $1,000 grants are available. In May 2017, the Office of Collegiate Ministries will lead a team of 10 pilgrims to the Iona Community, in western Scotland. The aim of this trip is two-fold. First, the OCM endeavors to offer spiritual support for ministry professionals working with collegiate-aged young adults. Second, the OCM hopes that an encounter with the Iona Community will broaden the vision for the PC(USA)’s work with young adults. The dates for the trip are May 12, 2017 to May 20, 2017. Participants will be responsible for securing and reporting their travel arrangements. A passport is required. The estimated cost of the trip (airfare, ground transportation, lodging, food and incidentals) is $2,000-$2,200 USD. The travel grant is intended to offset that total. Proof of airfare will be required. Download the application packet here.
The UKirk Taizé Grant is available to encourage and support both the development of local Taizé prayer gatherings and pilgrimage trips to the St. Louis Taizé meeting over Memorial Day weekend 2017. Ten $500 grants are available. The grant must be used toward the execution of a prayer gathering centered around the spirituality of the Taizé community OR to supplement the expense of taking college-aged young adults to the St. Louis Taizé meeting. The applying ministry must be registered with the UKirk Network. Download the application packet here.
